First and foremost, what is on my mind at least 40 percent of my day, is running. I get lost in hopes and dreams of marathons. Traveling the country with Erin with the common goal of running marathons and seeing the sights and sounds of the country. The only problem with this: Erin and I are both still very new in our running careers, and have yet to even finish a full marathon. I hope I'm not setting myself up for a failure, but I think its good to have high hopes and ambitions.
Second thing on my mind is work. This will probably change starting Monday. For at least a month or two, I'm sure I will be thinking of almost nothing but work. New jobs are like that for me. I only hope that I can keep up running 30+ miles/week in the coming couple months. (See what I just did there, I put running into what was supposed to be about work.)
Third thing is simply living. Thinking about what is next on my daily agenda. Dishes? Laundry? Whats on tv? I wonder how person X is doing? etc, etc... These thoughts are just filler material for what is really important to me. Erin, Family, Running, and Work. I give them all caps, because, in a way, they deserve it. Being an important part of my life will earn something a capital letter.. Pretty neat huh?

New job, and my foot hurts.
Well, I got myself another new job. I'm excited and nervous about it at the same time. If all goes well, perhaps this will be the first step toward buying a house and really feeling like.... I don't know.. I can't explain it. Everyone I know has told me I'll be good at it, etc etc, and I'm sure I will, but I lack confidence with brand new jobs.
On a more running related note, the past 2 days have been feeling great and sharp. However, I've developed a pain on the top of my left foot. I probably should have taken a rest day as soon as I noticed it creeping up on me. Of course, I didn't and did some speed work instead. I'm going to take a couple rest days today and tomorrow and hopefully be able to get back after it saturday evening or sunday. As a side-note, I have had this kind of pain before, and it went away. So hopefully no big deal!
A funny story: Yesterday at Mile One I bought Erin a new running hat, pink and grey, it's NICE! Anyway, I wanted to surprise her, so I hid the hat under her pillow. I was so sure she would roll over and move the pillow and discover it laying there! Well, plans never work out of course... She rolled over like she was just going to zonk out and sleep, without moving the pillow at all, or finding the hat! Well... I naturally became EVIL and started tickling her and just bothering her in general to get her to move around enough that she would have to re-arrange the pillow.. FINALLY she found it, and all of the poking and prodding became clear, she found it!

Minot YMCA Marathon... and stuff...
So... The local marathon formerly known as the "Trestle Valley Marathon" ended last year with its final running. This year they are calling the race the "Minot YMCA Marathon". Originally they had what was, in my opinion, a pretty good route planned. It started at the Minot auditorium, then headed over to a paved trail all the way out to Burlington and back. I was excited about it, as it would run past my aunt and uncles house. Anyway, City of Minot is a bunch of retarded chimps and apparently wouldnt allow a small section of the street to be portioned off for a running lane.
Long story short, this "new" marathon will be running the SAME COURSE as last year. I think its the dumbest thing ever, considering EVERYONE I've talked to hates that course. I forsee a pretty big failure this year for Minot's Marathon. Thats probably best since nobody in this town is willing to support it, including the chimps... wait.. cops..
On a side note, I am LOVING my job at Mile One and wish I could make a really good living working there full time. Currently I dont think it's in the cards for the business, but if it ever works out that it is in the deck.. I hope I can get in for the ride. It is honestly my dream job. I look forward to going to work, I dont break my back all day, I help people who are interested in the same things that I am. Its AMAZING...
